TRAVEL

Travel was a demo created for a module during my time at the University of Hertfordshire.

I used Maya to create the assets, and Unity to develop the demo. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to create a full prototype within the 4 weeks I had, so the demo contained menus, a camera "on rails", and a transition to a different scene.

Developed: 2017

Engine: Unity

Team Size: 1

Duration: 4 weeks

Game Design

The game design focussed on exploration, where players would travel through iconic locations in London as a fox while locating and collecting 5 discarded items left behind by people (and pigeons). I chose London as I'd recently moved closer to university and missed wandering through Kingston and London.

The number plate for each vehicle was "LND15 0PN", as a reference to the then Mayor of London Sadiq Khan's campaign to show London was united.

Art

In Maya, I created low-poly models with simple textures.

I created assets for the environment that included bus stops, vehicles, and buildings.

The Collectable items included a feather, an "oyster" card, a used Shakeaway cup, a donut, and a cinema ticket.

(Note: The donuts were a reference to Dinky Donuts in Kingston which has been around for as long as I can remember!)

The Collectable Items screen located in the Pause Menu

Collectable: Shakeaway cup

Collectable: Not quite an Oyster Card
